Socratic Seminar #4: Bitcoin Privacy with Rob
July 10 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The Socratic Seminar events are formatted to foster debate, information sharing, and lively discussion. Inspired by other Bitdevs around the country, this is an event for those interested in discussing and participating in the research and development of Bitcoin and related protocols.
Rob will be discussing privacy on Bitcoin + project Snowball which enhances privacy between mobile wallets.
Next, Micah will be presenting his open-source bitcoin mining calculator. It is inspired by the braiins calculator (https://insights.braiins.com/en/). The goals are to enable a better understanding of the economics in bitcoin mining and to empower everyone with the tools to make smart decisions on bitcoin mining hardware purchases.
Last, Clay will spend some time discussing current events & technical components: pull requests in the Bitcoin Core, lnd, network statistics, research papers, technical blog posts, and other relevant content.
We will be going to “Independent Sports Bar & Grill” (225 SW Broadway #100, Portland, OR 97205; across the street) after the event from 7:30pm-9:30pm.
