Reading Group 1 – BIP-118 and Eltoo
June 29 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us for our first reading group! Unlike a socratic seminar, the purpose of a reading group is to deep dive on a single topic. We will still have a socratic discussion but participants are expected to study the reading materials before attending and bring discussion questions to drive understanding. Our first reading group will cover [BIP-118](https://bitcoinops.org/en/topics/sighash_anyprevout/) and [Eltoo](https://bitcoinops.org/en/topics/eltoo/).
Eltoo is a layer 2 scaling proposal that greatly simplifies lightning network channel state management. Eltoo removes the need for penalty transactions which is expected to bring significant improvements to restore-from-backup processes, channel factories, and hardware signing devices.
Special thanks to our sponsor Mad Science of the Triangle for event space.
This group is the Raleigh/Durham fork of the BitDevs NYC meetup.
BitDevs is a community for those interested in discussing and participating in the research and development of Bitcoin and related protocols. You can be well versed with or new to the topics, all are welcome. Be advised: discussion will be technical.
Please note: no pizza this time.
