Bitcoin Reading Group – Nostr Edition
May 14 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Keeping your private key offline is privacy best practice in bitcoin. This may be increasingly important with Nostr as each note you send must be signed with a private key. Rather than storing your key on your computer or browser extension, one solution may be a hardware signing device.
What is Nostr? – Nostr is an acronym for **N**otes and **o**ther **s**tuff **t**ransmitted by **r**elay. It is an open protocol with no central servers – communication is passed through a series of relays. More here: [nostr-resources.com](nostr-resources.com)
This week we will be changing it up a bit. First, we will start out at the Cafe as usual and continue our discussion from last week. When the cafe closes at 3:00 we’ll head across the street to Good News Brewery.
There we will have a bit more space to demo how to set up a Nostr signing device, and we can sign a few notes live. This was first demonstrated by Ben Arc at Nostrica this past March. Below are the links to get started if you are interested in setting up your own device. Or you can just show up and see how easy or not it is to use. 😉
