Some bitcoiners will say that bitcoin doesn’t need banks. That could be true, but perhaps a better question is whether or not there are legit ways that banks can support bitcoin? A way that honors decentralization and financially helps people in a fair and honest manner? In other words, can it benefit society if banks correctly adopt bitcoin, and what does that look like?
Bob Van Kirk, a local bitcoiner with 20+ years of banking experience, will answer, “Yes.” Bob completed a “bitcoin for community banks roadmap” during his time at Horicon Bank. He then went on to Co-Found OIDA to help small banks implement bitcoin services.
This discussion will be a great opportunity to invite someone that is skeptical or curious about bitcoin.
The topic will be educational and challenging for both bitcoin beginners and bitcoin experts. Join us to familiarize yourself with the extent to which banks should be involved in a sound money (bitcoin) standard.
